Ahead of Tesla’s Battery Day, a major event in the electric vehicle and electric battery space, it might be worth noting a couple of trends. First, the sector has shown explosive growth recently, led by major companies like Tesla, Nikola Motors, and Nio. XPeng Motors’ recent IPO was projected to price at $12, and it came out of the gate quickly up to $21. CATL, a China-based global leader in EV battery production, has nearly doubled in value since the beginning of 2020.
