Our patented process enables the low-cost production of high-performance cathode materials used in lithium-ion batteries.
Join us in revolutionizing the way the world makes battery materials.
Our One-Pot™ process reduces CAPEX and OPEX by 30%, cuts energy use by up to 80%, and slashes water consumption by up to 80%.
Our sulfate-free process eliminates wastewater discharge, cuts GHGs by 50-60%, and removes the need for byproduct handling and disposal infrastructure.
Our M2CAM® (metals direct to CAM) technology leverages metal feedstocks, reducing reliance on geographically constrained supply chains and enabling localized production worldwide.
A simpler, more efficient process that lowers costs, minimizes complexity, and enhances competitiveness, resilience, and growth in lithium-ion battery cathode manufacturing.
A design-one, build-many modular approach that can be licensed, permitted, built, and operated in more jurisdictions than conventional plants.
The LFP commercial facility will demonstrate the optimal production line for the One-Pot process. It will be engineered using a design one, build many framework for replication in future multi-line production plants. Standardization of design will help achieve the scales and time to market required to meet current projections.
Nano One’s Candiac facility is demonstrating the One-Pot process at an industrial scale and will produce LFP commercially. The Commercialization Hub will also serve as a Centre of Excellence to train future plant operators, facilitate continuous improvement and to offer our customers, partners and licensees access to experienced implementation teams in engineering, procurement, construction and operation.
Our Candiac facility was built in 2010 by the Québec startup Phostech Lithium (est. 2002) who brought experience having previously built a pre-commercial LFP plant locally.
The 2010 facility emerged as North America’s sole commercial LFP plant and at the time was among the largest in the world—with a capacity of 2,400 tons per year through a hydrothermal process. After undergoing several ownership changes since 2011, Nano One took over the site on November 1st, 2022.
Our team in Candiac is the most experienced LFP manufacturing team outside China. Today, we’re converting the facility to a pilot plant to demonstrate Nano One’s proprietary One-Pot process.
The production will grow from an initial 200 tons per year capacity to 2,000 tons when the transition is completed. The purpose of the plant will be to continuously improve the process, validate key equipment at commercial scale and produce samples for potential offtake agreements and sales to clients.
